easyCRUISE selects St. Maarten as home port

easyCRUISE Selects St. Maarten As Home Port Starting in December

Philipsburg - Monday, August 7th, 2006 - easyCruise is returning to the Caribbean with a new itinerary that will take in the island paradises of St. Maarten, St. Barts, Anguilla, St. Kitts–Nevis and Antigua. From December 8th, complete with new livery, easyCruiseOne will take to the seas from as little as £9 or $18 per person per night.

Although the Windjammer Barefoot Cruises cruiseship the "Polynesia" has long called Great Bay its home port, the island of St. Maarten has not been successful at having any major cruise line home port any ships at the Dr. A. C. Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facilities.

However, it has taken a step in the right direction. “easyCruiseOne” will be home-porting one of its ships in Philipsburg starting in December.  The ship, small by cruise ship standards, sails to several nearby islands in a cruise that might well be of serious interest to many of our passengers who spend long periods of time in St. Maarten every year.

Arriving at some of the Caribbean’s most exclusive islands, the new “easyCruiseOne” itinerary will allow you to immerse yourself in a diverse mixture of cultures, stroll along numerous white sandy beaches, dive in and explore the depths of the clear blue coastal waters or simply visit the islands chic boutiques or enjoy an espresso in one of the continental-style cafés.

Unlike any other cruise, easyCruise allows consumers the freedom to explore each destination at their leisure. Sailing early each morning, easyCruise arrives in a new port by late morning allowing passengers to enjoy the day and nightlife in some of the Caribbean’s best destinations.

The new look for easyCruiseOne

In November 2006, easyCruiseOne will spend three weeks being transformed to carry the new easyCruise livery of graphite grey with orange trim and be completely refitted with a new café, bar and restaurant. "We’ll also be adding more cabins with windows – by popular demand!" says easyCruise.

For those that want to relax on board, there’s an open-air cocktail bar with hot tub; and to work off your holiday excesses, there’s a gym. easyCruiseOne carries a total of 170 passengers – all looking for fun and freedom on a weekend, short break or a week away. "With our great low prices we make a little go a long way!" states easyCruise.

Here are some suggested itineraries

The weekend – Book a 3-night weekend and join easyCruiseOne in St. Maarten on a Friday visiting St. Barts and Anguilla. Returning to St Maarten on Monday.

The midweek break – Leave on a Monday and you'll sail from St. Maarten to St. Kitts, Antigua, Nevis and arriving back in St. Maarten on Friday.

The week away – With such an array of stunning islands we suggest you book a week away and start your Caribbean cruise in Antigua on a Wednesday or in St Maarten on Friday or Monday.
